Chanterelle In The Summer Season

The fruiting of chanterelles is caused by thermal shocks (significant temperature variations over a short period of time). Once the chanterelle is out of the ground, it is humid weather with mild temperatures that will allow the chanterelle to grow in good conditions. These elements meet, in particular, at the very beginning of summer (end of June). It is therefore at this time that you will have the best chance of finding the first chanterelles.

On the other hand, during the summer, you will be less likely to find them, because the temperatures are higher and tend to dry out the soil, which is not a very good point for the growth of chanterelles : the chanterelles will dry out before they have even grown.

In summer, and particularly from mid-July to mid-August, find the Golden chanterelle. At the end of August, this is the perfect time for the Black Trumpet (Black Chanterelle).

Chanterelle In Autumn

The chanterelles come out again at the beginning of autumn. Indeed, it is at this time that the humidity and the temperatures will be optimal: it often rains and the temperatures are still mild.

However, when the temperatures begin to drop drastically (from mid-November), it will be increasingly difficult to find chanterelles. Indeed, the chanterelle will greatly slow down its growth if the temperatures are too low. But it depends on the chanterelle type.

Indeed, if you are looking for chanterelles then the ideal is to look for them at least October. Moreover, if you want to find Yellow-Foot chanterelles or Black chanterelles, then the ideal is to look for them from the end of October until the end of November.

chanterelle Season

The weather conditions seem ideal this year. The optimal times to find golden chanterelles should be between July 15 and August 15 , as well as throughout October ; The optimal times to find black trumpets and Yellow-Foot chanterelles should be throughout November .
